On the lower 'platform', I came across the ring wall of Lysimachos, made of large, hewn lime bricks joined without cementing, compound, 4 metres high, 3 metres thick, and I have just finished breaking through it.
Behind this second wall there is the wall of large, hewn bricks which I exposed three years again and up to now considered to be a bastion; but it is probable that it will turn out to be something different, (...)

Under the ruins of this temple, I hope to find the remains of the tiny temple found here by Alexander the Great. But it does not seem to me probable that I shall discover, in the depths of this, the old Trojan temple where Hekabe had the priestess Theano lay her precious robe on the knee of Minerva
(Ilias , VI , 302-304) :
'But the graceful Theano took the robe,
laid it there on the knee of Athenae with her beautiful locks.
She prayed on it to the daughter of Zeus, the mighty'.
